CarPlay
CarPlay is an Apple standard that enables the head unit to be a display and also act as a controller for an iPhone. It’s available on all iPhone 5 and later models with at least iOS 7.1.
CarPlay provides access to Apple apps such as Phone, Music, Apple Maps, iMessage, iBooks and Podcasts. It also has third-party apps such as Spotify, Google Maps (iOS 12 onwards), Waze (iOS 12 onwards), WhatsApp, iPlayer Radio, Amazon Music, Audible and many more. Its a great solution for all Apple users.
Android Auto
Android Auto is similar to Apple CarPlay but it is developed by Google. Once an android phone is linked to your head unit it will mirror qualified apps from the phone to your stereo’s display, with a simple driver-friendly user interface. This interface is designed to minimise driving distractions.
